Boston/Miami's top shows

Gaby Espino and Carlos Ponce from "Santa Diabla' on Telemundo.'

Si,mi amor! Telenovelas have been steaming up the summer ratings in South Florida. Just look at the most watched primetime shows from Aug. 5-11 when Telemundo introduced its new soapy series "Santa Diabla." Network rival Univision also has Cuban hunk William Levy's new telenovela "La Tempestad." The most watched English language program that week belonged to CBS affiliate WFOR-Ch. 4 with its NFL preseason game.

Up in Boston, telenovelas aren't as hot but football and baseball are, locking in most of the top programs (along with ABC's The Bachelorette, which is a TV love sport of sorts.)  Also of note, Discovery's "Sharkpocalypse" surfaced at #25 with 111,000 viewers.
