Fusion

South Florida is the home base for a new experiment in cable TV news. It's called Fusion, a new and entertainment network aimed at English-speaking Hispanics and their friends. It's a joint venture from ABC and Univision.  I visited the network and wrote this article for today's Sun Sentinel. One of the key pieces of the network is "The Morning Show," hosted by former Univision reporter Mariana Atencio, Brazilian journalist Pedro Andrade and Greek-American comedian Yannis Pappas (photo to the right). The show (and the network) are taking a page from Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" by infusing humor and satire into news shows to appeal to millennials.
