Most Entertaining

Last Thursday night, I had the pleasure of hosting "A Conversation with Andy Cohen" at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton for Southflorida.com, the Sun Sentinel's entertainment/go-guide website. Some proceeds from the event benefited Autism Speaks and we had local spokeswoman Candi Spitz speak before the event.

But Mr. Bravo was the big man on campus and he was gracious and very sweet in the green room (where my editor snapped the photo to your left) and on stage before 500 rowdy women and gay men from greater Boca Raton.

I mostly focused the interview on his memoir, "Most Talkative" which will have a paperback edition release next month. We talked about his early days at Boston University where he landed an interview with Susan Lucci; how he launched his TV career as a producer for CBS's morning news show where he coordinated coverage of some of the biggest stories of the 1990s (Hurricane Andrew, the Oklahoma City bombing, floods in Missouri and fires in California) and how he transitioned from hard news to building the wildly successful "Real Housewives" franchise on Bravo television.  (I will post a review of his book soon.)

From the get go Thursday, Andy said I could him ask whatever I wanted and I did - boxers or briefs (briefs); his hectic work schedule; his thoughts on dating; his ideal romantic date (which apparently made me blush A LOT); would he want to get married one day; where he sees reality TV in the next five years and whom he would love to have on his WWHL show (First lady Michelle Obama.) Here's a photo gallery of the event. Muchas gracias Andy for a great chat!

  2. Apparently I blushed a few times (according to audience members.) Once when he called me "smiley". Then when I asked him about what would his ideal romantic date be like, he began with "Well when I pick you up Johnny..." I started grinning. (I believe that's one of the photos in this post)

  3. Ha! I can't disagree with "smiley". But it's a great smile.

I hope you're going to take him up on his offer...at least for those people who live vicariously. :)
